Meet the maker
Originally from Vietnam, Thanh came to Australia as a boat refugee in the 80s with his family. Without a word of english upon arrival, he worked hard to create a new life in Melbourne with the generosity of the Australian people.
Thanh first began his smithing apprenticeship when he was in his teens in Vietnam and has been making hand crafted jewellery since. He works with techniques that have been passed down from generations of master craftsmen.
Thanh x b is a collaboration between Thanh and his daughter - Thanh being the MAKER and his daughter looking after everything else. This provides the ideal setup for Thanh to focus on his craft and ensuring he always works to his best.
With over 40 years of experience hand crafting pieces in gold, silver and precious gems, Thanh looks forward to making beautiful jewellery for everyone!

Materials
Silver alloy in its purest form (aka fine silver) is relatively soft and quite malleable, which is not ideal for making jewellery. It is commonly combined with other metal alloys to increase its hardness and produce a more durable material to sculpt. This is known as sterling silver which has a 92.5% silver content combined with 7.5% other metals. It is common to have a variety of alloys combined to increase its strength, our maker primarily uses a mixture of copper as it has been proved to be the best accompaniment to create durability and maintain the beautiful silver colour.
We do not plate our sterling silver so it will be susceptible to tarnish when worn or exposed to chemicals on a regular basis. It can be cleaned quite easily with a soft microfibre cloth or polished with solutions specifically for silver. Regular cleaning and storing your jewellery in a soft cloth container will minimise damage over time and keep your pieces bright and sparkly.
ring sizes
Not all hands are the same, everyone has different size fingers where they are unique as our own fingerprints!
We have put together a guide on the different size rings for you to select which one is the best fit for you.
GUIDE
Take a piece of string to measure the circumference of your finger.
Lay the piece of string flat on a ruler to find the length of the inside circumference.
Compare the length in the below table to determine your size.
TIPS
GENERAL
Women’s rings typically range from H to T.
Men’s rings are typically larger and range from P onwards.
TIME OF DAY
Fingers tend to change size depending on the time of day when your fingers are hot or cold. Try to measure your finger a few times at different parts of the day for accuracy.
